Meet Dr. Emily LeBlanc
Emily Maheux-LeBlanc graduated with her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a women’s health advocate and has a special focus in practice on hormonal concerns (PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, fertility/pregnancy/postpartum, menopause, etc) as well as skin conditions (acne, eczema, rosacea, etc) and pediatrics. Emily loves educating her patients on the foundations of health – nutrition, movement, sleep, stress-management, and connection – and creating easy habits for patients to increase their longevity.
As the partner of a conventional medicine healthcare worker (a Respiratory Therapist at St. Martha’s Hospital), Emily understands and respects the values of both conventional and naturopathic medicine and knows that they work best when in conjunction. Her passion lies in preventative medicine and she utilizes natural therapies such as clinical nutrition, acupuncture, botanical medicine, lifestyle counselling, nutraceuticals, and more in her practice.
Always eager to learn more to better serve her patients, she has amassed a number of continuing education courses and conferences in the fields of integrative dermatology, fertility, breastfeeding counselling, and more.
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys spending time with her fiancé and two rescue cats, visiting the farmer’s market and shopping local, decorating her cozy acreage home in Bayfield, and sharing all of the above on her Instagram (as well as health info!).
She is thrilled to be joining the team at Root Cause Health & Wellness and serving the wonderful community of Antigonish!
