Teresa Donovan completed her undergraduate degree at St. Francis Xavier University, graduating with a B.Sc. in Human Nutrition. She was always actively involved in the Antigonish and St.F.X communities, organizing St.F.X health fairs, wellness committees, instructing fitness programs, and providing nutritional education. It was during a service learning trip to Cuba, which centered upon the country’s diverse ecosystem, sustainable living, and herbal medicine, that Dr. Donovan confirmed her interest in perusing a career that focuses on natural healing.
After graduating from St. Francis Xavier University, Teresa volunteered with the Coady International Institute where she worked with rural farmers and women’s groups in Western Kenya, educating and developing programs on HIV/AIDS prevention and nutritional management. She developed a pilot project for the Ministry of Health to educate health care providers on the nutritional management of HIV/AIDS, which in turn became a country wide program.
Following this she completed a four-year medical degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, the only accredited naturopathic school in Canada. As part of her studies in Toronto, she worked in a variety of healing centers, including the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, the Sherbourne Health Clinic, and the Anishnawbe Native Healing Centre. Since graduating and completing the North American Licensing Examinations, and is licensed by the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta to practice naturopathic medicine.

Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia,
Jennifer Doyle is a licensed naturopathic
doctor who completed an intensive four year
naturopathic diploma program at the Canadian
College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in
Toronto. CCNM is the only fully-accredited
naturopathic medical school currently in Canada.
Jennifer has also successfully completed the
comprehensive Naturopathic Physicians Licensing
Examinations (NPLEX) administered by the North
American Board of Naturopathic Examiners
(NABNE) in Portland, Oregon. She also holds a five year Bachelor of Science
degree with an Advanced Major in Biology from
St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova
Scotia.
Jennifer has performed volunteer services for a
number of organizations and health clinics in Nova
Scotia and Toronto which have allowed her to
witness and experience different points of view on
how naturopathic care should be received. She has
worked at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in
Toronto where she treated patients ailing from a
wide range of pathologies from simple weight loss
programs to more serious conditions such as
autoimmune diseases and cancers. She also worked
at a not-for-profit clinic called the Sherbourne
Health Centre which offered free medical care for
HIV/AIDS patients. Prior to joining Root Cause Health & Wellness Clinic, she also practiced in Halifax and Antigonish.
As a primary health care provider treating men, women and children of all
ages, Jennifer utilizes a host of different modalities to care for each
patient's individual needs. These modalities include: traditional chinese
medicine and acupuncture, botanical medicine, nutrition and lifestyle
counseling, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and physical medicine. As a
naturopathic doctor, the focus is placed on prevention and treatment of
both acute and chronic illnesses using non-invasive treatments and
lifestyle management.

Dr. Gail Andrew is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan’s Clinical Psychology program in Saskatoon, SK. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Hincks Dellcrest Children’s Center in Toronto. Following the completion of her internship, she joined the Children’s Program at the Wascana Rehabilitation Center in Regina, SK.
Gail moved to Antigonish, NS in 2003 and completed temporary contracts at Child and Adolescent Mental Health at St. Martha’s Hospital on the Autism team. She also taught first and third year psychology courses at St. Francis Xavier University before establishing her private practice in 2006. Gail sees patients in St. Peters at the SchoolHouse Health Center and in Antigonish at Root Cause Health & Wellness Clinic.
She has traveled to North Carolina for a one-week intensive training in hypnosis with Dr. Michael Yapko and last year completed her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR. EMDR is a model of therapy that has been shown to be effective for people who have experienced trauma in their lives. Besides offering therapy, Gail is qualified to complete psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents and young adults. Gail is also available as a speaker for workshops, with presentations for ADHD, Working with Adolescents, and Compassion Fatigue to name a few. In her private practice, Gail welcomes children, adolescents, adults and families who are experiencing a wide range of problems in living (anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, etc.).
Dr. Gail Andrew is a Registered Psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) and a member of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS).

Since 2006, Darlene Rodgers has been a practicioner of Reiki (ray-key) and Reflexology.
Darlene believes in treating the entire body. When any pathways are disrupted, this is when disease can happen. When the body is working in balance, it can repair itself like it was designed to do. Both Reiki and Reflexology creates balance, leaving you feeling better, mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Darlene has a personal interest in using alternatives, leaving medication and surgery only as a last resort. She have worked on people of all ages, from infants to seniors, seeing tremendous results with all of herclients. Reiki and Reflexology also work in conjunction with standard medical treatments, promoting a healthier, balanced state which only promotes health. Even if you have no health concerns, both Reiki and Reflexology help to maintain your health, giving your body and mind the little time necessary to create the harmony within your cells to continue your good health.
